NCAA softball regional postponed because of rain

Friday, May 20, 2011 | 8:01 p.m. CDT

The opening day of the NCAA softball tournament has been postponed because of rain, according to a news release from the athletics department. The Friday games have been pushed to Saturday, with the first five games of the tournament tentatively scheduled to be played should weather and time allow it. If action does not start at 10 a.m., game five will be moved to Sunday.

Tickets from Friday's games will be honored for those contests. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday. The first game is between DePaul and Indiana. Missouri is now set to play Illinois State at 12:30 p.m.

Gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and tickets from Friday’s first two games will be honored for the rescheduled games.  After game two, the stadium will be cleared so that tickets for games three, four and five can be accepted as originally scheduled.
