Couple moved from Joplin one day before tornado

EDMOND, Okla. — An Oklahoma man is happy that his wife talked him into moving on Saturday instead of waiting as he wanted.

Derek and Amy Fine moved from Joplin on Saturday — the day before a tornado struck the Missouri city and killed at least 117 people.

Amy Fine said she graduated from Missouri Southern University on Saturday and moved with husband, Derek Fine, to the Oklahoma City suburb the same day. She told KWTV that there was no particular reason for the immediate move — that she was "just ready."

She said the apartment complex where the couple lived in Joplin was destroyed.

Derek Fine said he felt rushed by the Saturday move and wanted to stay but is now glad he listened to his wife.
