Four Missouri baseball players receive All-Big 12 awards

COLUMBIA — The Big-12 conference announced Tuesday the 2011 All-Big 12 Baseball Awards, highlighting the conference's top players.

The conference's head coaches choose the players and aren't allowed to vote for their own players, according to a Big 12 sports release.

Missouri baseball received the following honors:

  • Jonah Schmidt, senior designated hitter — All-Big 12 Second Team
  • Rob Zastryzny, freshman left-handed pitcher — All-Freshman Team

  • Blake Brown, sophomore outfielder — Honorable Mention

  • Phil McCormick, senior relief pitcher — Honorable Mention
