Rock Bridge tennis defeats Rockhurst, faces Lafayette for state title

The Rock Bridge boys tennis team defeated Rockhurst 5-3 in the Class 2 state semifinal Thursday afternoon. The team will face Lafayette in the finals.

After splitting the singles matches 3-3, Rock Bridge won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to secure the team victory.

Senior Daniel Liu and junior Ford Zitsch won their match at No. 1 doubles 6-3, 7-5, and seniors Jimmy Hunter and Joe LaRose won at No. 2 doubles 6-3, 6-2 to give Rock Bridge a chance to defend its state title.

The title match is scheduled for Thursday evening.
