Grant Elementary to hold 100th anniversary celebration at Blue Note

COLUMBIA — Grant Elementary School will hold a centennial celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Blue Note in Columbia.

The school opened in January 1911 and serves children from kindergarten through fifth grade. The current enrollment is 310.

Current students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to attend the celebration. Admission is free.

Tours of the school will be held starting at 3 p.m. Saturday. The celebration will feature kids activities, a silent auction and live entertainment from alumni.

Interested alumni and family can register on the centennial website to receive e-mail updates about the celebration.

Grant Elementary School is located at 10 East Broadway, and the Blue Note is at 17 N. Ninth St.
