Edward and Martha Cook celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Edward and Martha Cook will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 18.

The Columbia couple was married on June 4, 1961, at the First Church of Nazarene by the Rev. Walter Boswell. They still reside in Columbia.

Edward Cook has worked for the Columbia Missourian for 52 years. Martha Cook spent her career in the banking industry before retiring from Mizzou Credit Union.

They have two children, Brent, who lives in Columbia, and Jeff, who lives in Rocheport. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jeff, Tami and Brent Cook will host an anniversary reception from 2 to 4 p.m. June 18 at the Parkade Baptist Church, 102 N. Garth Ave. Family and friends are welcome, but the hosts ask that attendees do not bring gifts.
