COLUMBIA — Michael W. Garrett, 32, of Hartsburg was arrested early Wednesday morning after a 15-mile vehicle pursuit, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Garrett was arrested on a warrant for probation and parole violation and charged with resisting arrest and driving while suspended, the release stated.

A Boone County sheriff's deputy and the Boone County Sheriff's Department Proactive Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle at 1:14 a.m. Thursday at U.S. 63 and Ponderosa Street. Garrett failed to yield and continued driving south on U.S. 63, according to the release.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 4500 block of Christian School Road, where Garrett was taken into custody, the release stated.
