A two-car accident at the intersection of US-63 and Highway 163 left two people with moderate injuries on Thursday. A car traveling east on Highway 163 did not stop at a stop sign, and it collided with a car traveling south.

COLUMBIA — Two people were injured in a collision Thursday evening at the intersection of U.S. 63 and Missouri 163.

A brown Honda CR-V drove through a stop sign while heading eastbound on Missouri 163 and hit a silver Chevrolet Traverse traveling southbound on U.S. 63, Trooper Brad Germann of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle and the only passenger of the southbound vehicle were both taken to University Hospital with moderate injuries, Germann said. He said there were no other reported injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
