Sturgeon man dies in car crash

COLUMBIA — A Sturgeon man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening at U.S. 63 and Peabody Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report.

Arlen McGee, 51, failed to yield to another vehicle as he headed east on Peabody Road, according to the report. In the other vehicle, Kelsey Bruce, 18, and Steve Touchton, 19, both of Hallsville, were headed north on U.S. 63 when their car collided with the side of McGee's vehicle and then struck a road sign, according to the report.

McGee was ejected from his car and pronounced dead at 8:09 p.m. by Boone County Medical Examiner Dori Burke, according to the report.

Bruce sustained moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital by ambulance, and Touchton sustained minor injuries but refused treatment, according to the report.
