Fire damages West Rockhampton Circle home

COLUMBIA — A fire broke out at 1:16 a.m. Tuesday, causing damage to a home at 4221 West Rockhampton Circle. No one was injured.

Boone County Fire Protection District Chief Gale Blomenkamp said the fire started in the attic of the house and damaged the attic, garage and part of the kitchen. Blomenkamp said he did not have an estimate for how much the damage would cost.

The Boone County Fire Protection District received a dispatch at 1:18 a.m. and worked with the Columbia Fire Department to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
