The space shuttle Atlantis lifts off from the Kennedy Space Center Friday, July 8, in Cape Canaveral, Fla.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA's last space shuttle voyage got underway Friday, as the space shuttle Atlantis lifted off at 11:29 a.m. at the Kennedy Space Center. Atlantis is scheduled to return on July 20 after 12 days in orbit.
