Police investigating shooting of 16-year-old boy

COLUMBIA — Columbia police are investigating the Tuesday shooting of a 16-year-old boy in front of the J.W. "Blind" Boone Community Center at 301 N. Providence Rd.

Officers responded at 11:12 p.m. to a call of shots being fired and arrived within one minute.

The victim was shot in the leg and was taken to University Hospital. His wounds were not life threatening.

Detectives are still investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.

The Columbia Police Department  is asking that anyone with information, call the department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS with any information about this case.
