Gov. Jay Nixon scheduled to attend Show-Me State Games

Saturday, July 23, 2011 | 6:00 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon plans to visit the Show-Me State Games basketball competition Sunday.

Nixon will arrive at Hearnes Center at 9:45 a.m. Sunday and will toss up a ceremonial tip-off at about 10 a.m.  He will then meet and greet with participants, spectators and volunteers. Nixon will proceed to the MU Student Recreation Complex around 10:30 a.m. to take in more State Games basketball action.

Nixon has attended the past two Show-Me State Games, participating in the basketball skills competition.
