Soap Box racers finish second in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — Jordan Weltha placed second in his heat in the Soap Box Derby Championships stock division Saturday in Akron.  Weltha represented mid-Missouri. In the single-elimination race format, only the winners of each heat advance.

Levi Slate, representing mid-Missouri in the Super Stock Division, placed first in his initial heat but was edged in his second heat by Aaron Kling of New Zealand.
