Hermann Wine Trail holds annual Berries & BarBQ event this weekend

COLUMBIA — The Hermann Wine Trail will host its annual Berries & BarBQ event Saturday and Sunday. 

Winding along the Missouri River between Hermann and New Haven, the 20-mile drive traces a path through the rolling hills and densely wooded forests of central Missouri.

The event is one of five annual Wine Trail events, said Patty Held, president of Hermann Wine Trail. She saidmore than 900 people are expected to attend.

Wine and food will be served at several stops. Some of the highlights include rosemary-grilled chicken with blueberry chutney paired with Three Saints Chardonnay at Dierberg and Star Lane Vineyards.

Held said seven wineries will participate:

People who visit any or all of the participating wineries could be eligible for winery gift certificates as well as a night’s stay at a Hermann bed & breakfast.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased by calling (800) 932-8687, or are available online at
