ST. LOUIS — A father and son who have teamed up to play lottery games for a quarter of a century have struck it rich.
The Missouri Lottery says 84-year-old Jack Sullivan of Wentzville purchased a Missouri Lotto ticket at a Schnucks Market. It was a $1.6 million winner in the July 20 drawing. Rather than receiving the prize in 25 annual payments, Sullivan opted for the $800,000 cash option.
Sullivan and his son, 64-year-old Craig Sullivan of Chandler, Ariz., have been playing various lottery games since the Missouri Lottery began in 1986. Their first brush with luck came in 1988 when Craig bought an Arizona Lottery ticket worth $78,000.
Father and son will split this windfall, just as they did the last one.
