Thursday, August 4, 2011 | 11:01 a.m. CDT

ST. LOUIS — Former NBA player Darius Miles has been arrested for allegedly trying to take a loaded gun through security at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

Miles was arrested Wednesday afternoon after Transportation Security Administration workers discovered the gun in X-ray screening. A spokeswoman for the St. Louis County jail said Miles was booked, then released.

No charges have been filed. Miles does not have a listed phone number, and his attorney did not respond to messages.

Miles is a native of East St. Louis, Ill. He was picked No. 3 out of East St. Louis High School in the 2000 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He last played in 2009 for Memphis.

Miles was arrested in 2009 in Fairview Heights, Ill., for possessing marijuana and completed court-ordered drug education.
