Know Your Numbers Mobile Health Unit provides free health screenings

COLUMBIA — Fifty-five residents of Columbia took advantage of free health screenings provided by the new Know Your Numbers Mobile Health Unit on Wednesday, Boone Hospital Center spokesman Jacob Luecke said.

From 8 to 11 a.m., people had their blood checked for high cholesterol, high blood sugar and other precursors to avoidable health risks.

“Everything went smoothly,” Luecke said. He said a turnout of 55 was ideal because there were no long wait times.

Some patients had test numbers outside the normal ranges. These people benefit the most from this new service because they become aware of where their health numbers stand and how to bring them back to appropriate levels.
