Sub Shop delivery driver robbed

COLUMBIA – Columbia police responded to the robbery of a Sub Shop delivery driver Thursday night.

According to a news release from the Police Department, the driver was robbed on the 500 block of Jackson Street at approximately 9:39 p.m.

The police description of the  perpetrator is of a black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches, of medium build and wearing a bandana over his face. A police investigation revealed that the suspect was holding a baseball bat at the time of the robbery. He demanded an undisclosed amount of money from the driver, according to the release.

The victim was unharmed in the incident.

The police request that anyone with information contact them or call Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
