An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the class years for Riley Wilson, Karley Mirts, Abbie Kent and Darian Harvey.

Hickman advanced to 3-0 in fall softball play Friday with two wins in the Troy Tournament. Sophomore pitcher Riley Wilson (3-0) picked up the win in both games.

Hickman beat Lafayette 5-4 in its first game. After leading 4-1 through five innings, the Kewpies gave up a  their lead in the sixth. Karley Mirts, a senior, led off the bottom half of the inning with a single and advanced on senior Abbie Kent's single. Courtney Nichols' fielder's choice scored Mirts for the winning run.

The Kewpies beat Bowling Green 12-7 in eight innings in their second game. Kent started the eighth on second base because of international tiebreaker rules, and after senior Darian Harvey laid a bunt that passed just under the Bowling Green third baseman's glove, the Kewpies rallied for six runs and hung on  for the win.

The Kewpies play again tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Troy High School.
