Rock Bridge, Hickman roll at Helias girls' golf tournament

The Rock Bridge girls' golf team won the 10-team Helias Crusader Classic on Monday at the Jefferson City Country Club with a team score of 357. Hickman placed second at 387.

Hickman's Patricia DeCastro placed second, shooting an 84 on the par-72 course, while Rock Bridge senior Morgan Reimler tied for third at 85.

The Bruins' Makayla Baker was fifth with an 87, and the Kewpies' Laura Rowe was sixth with a 90. Rock Bridge's Megan Goree (seventh with a 91) and Kaitlyn Marsh (eighth with a 94) also finished in the top ten.

The tournament was the first of the season for both Rock Bridge and Hickman. The Bruins were scheduled to begin the season on Aug. 22 at the Warrensburg Invitational, but the tournament was rained out.
