COLUMBIA — Police arrested a woman Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of making a false report of a strong-arm robbery at the Subway restaurant where she worked.
The woman, Kelli Buckhalter, 27, called the police about a robbery at the Subway at 1406 Forum Blvd., Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer said. But there were inconsistencies in her story that led to her arrest, Stroer said.
The woman admitted her involvement in the incident, Stroer said.
Buckhalter was also arrested on suspicion of stealing the bank deposit bag, containing more than $500.
She was being held in the Boone County jail on $5,000 bond.
In later questioning, Buckhalter told police that her husband, Trevor Buckhalter, was involved, according to a media release from Columbia Police.
The release said investigators called the man at his home and asked him to turn himself in. He agreed but did not appear.
Police asked that anyone with information regarding Trevor Buckhalter call the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS (8477).
