COLUMBIA—Columbia Police are investigating the death of a local DJ who died Saturday, Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer said.

Marvin Holmes, 46, performed regularly at DC’s Bar and Grill under the name DJ Ice.

The Missourian previously reported that Holmes was taken to University Hospital after a physical confrontation with another man at DC’s on Aug. 21. Holmes spent a week at the hospital in critical condition and died Saturday evening.

A candlelight vigil was held for him behind DC’s on Saturday night.
