UPDATE: Wife, husband arrested in connection with false report of Subway robbery

 COLUMBIA — The husband of a woman arrested under suspicion of robbing a Subway restaurant turned himself in to the Columbia Police Department on Thursday afternoon, according to a media release from the Columbia police.

Police arrested Kelli Buckhalter, 27, Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of making a false report of a strong-arm robbery at the Subway restaurant at 1406 Forum Blvd. where she worked.

Buckhalter was also arrested on suspicion of stealing the restaurant's bank deposit bag, containing more than $500.

The woman admitted her involvement in the incident, police spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. In later questioning, Buckhalter told police that her husband, Trevor Buckhalter, was involved, according to a media release from Columbia police.

Thursday afternoon, police reported that Trevor Buckhalter had turned himself in.
