Columbia College volleyball goes 3-1 at Graceland Invitational

The Columbia College volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday at the Graceland University Invitational to finish the event at 3-1.

The Cougars fell to No.20 ranked Oklahoma Baptist University 25-23, 27-25, 17-25, 25-21 in the day's first match but then defeated Graceland 25-14, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-14.

The No. 3 ranked Cougars are now 7-2 overall.

Against Oklahoma Baptist, Vesna Trivunovic had 10 kills to lead the Cougars and Nicole Murphy added eight. Paula Ferreira had 40 assists and 25 digs against the Bisons

Against Graceland, Trivunovic again led the team in kills with 16, and Trinity Ojo had 11. Erin Pavlin had 25 digs, and Ferreira had 48 assists in the win against the Yellow Jackets.

Columbia College plays next at 7 p.m. Tuesday against visiting Hannibal-LaGrange University.
