Missouri volleyball team second at invitational

The Missouri volleyball team swept host Denver 25-23, 25-18, 25-22 in its final match of the Denver Pioneer Classic on Saturday night to finish second in the tournament.

Tigers sophomore outside hitter Lisa Henning had a team-high 11 kills and senior middle hitter Brittney Brimmage nine for Missouri (11-2). Henning and teammate Molly Kreklow were named to the all-tournament team. Kreklow had 29 assists and five kills in addition to five service aces.

The Tiger offense also got good contributions from freshmen Emily Wilson and Katie O’Brien. Wilson tallied seven kills and three blocks while O’Brien tallied four kills and two aces. Defensively, freshman Whitney Little led the Tigers with six blocks.
