BENTON-STEPHENS: Center for Gifted Education will hold potluck for students, family

Wednesday, September 14, 2011 | 8:30 a.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — The Center for Gifted Education will host a potluck dinner for its students and their families from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The center's co-director Terry Gaines said the event is a way "to build communities within families."

The center's students come from all of Columbia's public, private and home schools, so this event is a good way for families from different areas to connect, she said.

The dinner will be held on the lawn of Field Elementary School, 1010 Range Line St., Gaines said. The event is hosted every fall by the center's teachers.
