COLUMBIA — The Sonic at 708 E. Business Loop 70 was robbed Tuesday morning, said Latisha Stroer, Columbia Police Department public information officer.

Officers were called to Sonic at 4:58 a.m. in response to a robbery that involved a possible hand gun. No one was injured in the incident, and the suspect took some money before running away.

Stroer said that a Sonic employee had arrived to open the restaurant when he was approached from behind by a man who said he had a hand gun. The man never showed the gun.

The man instructed the employee to enter the store and demanded money, Stroer said.

Police ask that anyone with information regarding this robbery contact the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS (8477).
