PHOTO GALLERY: CMSE Giving Gardens provides Columbia with jobs, flowers

Tuesday, September 13, 2011 | 8:25 p.m. CDT
Sandi Reeves is trying to select two "hardy mums," a type of chrysanthemum, to decorate the front entry of her house at the greenhouse of CMSE Giving Gardens on Tuesday afternoon. "I love this place," said Reeves. She has been to the greenhouse every season this year.

Tuesday's pleasant weather offered an opportunity for Columbia residents to get out and browse the city's flower selection.  One such venue is the CMSE Giving Gardens greenhouse,  located at 4040 S. Bearfield Road, which provides both flowers for the community and employment opportunities for those with disabilities.

These are just a few of the flowers available at the retail greenhouse of CMSE Giving Gardens. The retail greenhouse was built two years ago with the intent of providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
