Columbia Public Schools plans to purchase property for new elementary school

COLUMBIA — The city's next public elementary school will be built in northeast Columbia and is scheduled to open in August 2015.

Columbia Public Schools announced Friday its plans to buy a 32-acre site just north of where Battle High School is under construction. The property will be purchased for $1.5 million from the St. Charles Road Development Group.
