Jon Desha was promoted to assistant head coach of Columbia College's men and women soccer programs, the college announced on Tuesday.

Desha will continue working with the men's team and will also be a part of the women soccer team's first season in the fall of 2012.

In his four years with the Cougars as a part-time assistant, the men's team won back-to-back American Midwest Conference tournaments and made two appearances at the NAIA National Championships.

Desha was an assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach at Westminster College and William Woods University before coming to Columbia College.
