COLUMBIA — Cedar Ridge Elementary School will not have classes on Friday.

Teachers will spend half the day grading reading and writing tests and the other half collaborating on recent program changes that have been made at the school, Principal Angie Chandler said.

"It’s a time for teachers to get together and collaborate on where we’re headed as a building and what’s working and what’s not working," Chandler said.

Chandler said she hopes the students will take the opportunity to enjoy their three-day weekend with their family and friends.

School will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
