Columbia man seriously injured after motorcycle accident

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was seriously injured after being ejected from his motorcycle while riding on Route K early Friday morning.

Christopher Meives, 32, was taken to University Hospital. The hospital had no information on his current condition as of Friday morning.

Meives swerved off the road while he was riding south on Route K at 1:10 a.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report. He hit a ditch causing his motorcycle to overturn and throw him off.

Meives was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.
