COLUMBIA — Boone County commissioners will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. Monday to discuss their division of duties after the death of Presiding Commissioner Ed Robb on Saturday.
Northern District Commissioner Skip Elkin and Southern District Commissioner Karen Miller will hold the special meeting in Conference Room 301 of the Boone County Government Center.
Elkin and Miller can continue to do county business as a quorum, but County Clerk Wendy Noren is charged with designating one of them to preside over commission business. She said Sunday that the last time the presiding commissioner died in office, in 1985, she alternated the remaining commissioners in that role.
Commissioners also are assigned individually to act as liaisons or members of numerous boards and commissions. Any responsibilities given to Robb will have to be reassigned.
