Woman hospitalized after stabbing

COLUMBIA — A woman was stabbed twice early Wednesday morning as she walked home from a gas station in north Columbia.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, an unidentified female, 35, was stabbed along Blue Ridge Road near Brown Station Road at around 4 a.m. while listening to music on her headphones.

The woman was pushed to the ground where she was stabbed twice in the back. She felt herself being patted down. It is unknown whether multiple suspects were involved.

The woman was left lying on the ground. She called her mother to pick her up.

The woman's injuries are not considered life threatening. The Columbia Police Department has no information on potential suspects, and the major crimes unit is currently investigating.
