Friday, September 30, 2011 | 9:44 p.m. CDT

Hickman softball lost at Troy 8-3 on Friday.

Courtney Nichols had three hits in the game for the Kewpies. Freshman Molly Carter also had two hits, and third basemen Paige Nelson had one run scored and two driven in.

Head coach Courtney Haskell said her team was unable to get hits in key moments.

“We were able to get people on, we just couldn’t knock them in when we needed to," she said.

Hickman (12-12) looks to bounce back on Saturday, when it plays at Francis Howe in its final regular season game.
