Stephens cross country competes at Loyola Lakefront Invitational

Stephens College cross country finished 36th of 45 women's teams at the 39th Annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago on Saturday.

Freshman Lindsey Jo Martin was the first Stephens runner to cross the finish line with a time of 20:24.

All top-three finishers for Stephens were new to the team this season. After Martin, the next runner to finish was freshman Tara Chronister (21:45). Sophomore Dani Kelley (22:17) was the third Stephens runner to finish.

The two senior runners completed the race back-to-back with Ariel Christman (23:07) finishing slightly ahead of Kelsi Simpson (23:09).

The Stars' next race is the Gary Stoner Invitational next weekend at Central Methodist University in Fayette.
