Truman the Tiger gets off the new Columbia city bus at the Mizzou Arena on Monday. The black and gold bus was unveiled at a press conference and will begin operating on Tuesday.

New black and gold buses have rolled into Columbia and will begin running bus routes Tuesday.

Mayor Bob McDavid proposed the black and gold buses last October in support of MU, an idea the council approved. The idea was started by MU head football coach Gary Pinkel 10 years ago when he asked why the city buses were University of Kansas colors.
