COLUMBIA–The parking garage at Sixth and Cherry streets will be closed Wednesday through Friday for routine maintenance.

Permit-holders will need to park in designated spaces in the garage at Fifth and Walnut streets and display a tag, according to a news release by the Public Works Department.

Hourly spaces are also available in the same garage.

The garage at Sixth and Cherry streets was washed and painted earlier this summer, Public Works spokeswoman Jill Stedem said. Now, the walls and floors of the garage will be resealed, a job that hasn't been done for years, she said.

The garage will reopen Friday night, depending on how quickly the crews finish the resealing, Stedem said.
