HARTSBURG — This year marks the 20th year Hartsburg will welcome visitors to share in the spirit of fall for the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival.
More than 200 booths filled with handmade crafts, treats, decorations and live demonstrations will be set up throughout the town, which has a population of 108.
The festival usually offers about 48 acres worth of pumpkins, but flooding damaged some this year. Jo Hackman, one of the town's pumpkin farmers, said visitors should expect about 12 acres worth of pumpkin picking this weekend at the festival.
Pony rides, pumpkin painting, straw mazes and hayrides will be set up to entertain children after they pick out pumpkins. Adults can visit Hartsburg's winery and listen to the live bands scheduled for the weekend.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday..
