COLUMBIA — From the time he was a kid, sitting alone in his room doing play-by-plays for Cardinals and Royals games, Jet Roberts has had a passion for talking about sports.

Several years later, he is doing what he loves, co-hosting the Closers, a sports talk show on KFRU. Roberts pumps his energy up each day to interview athletes like Missouri’s Kim English (a personal favorite of his) or to have friendly banter with his co-host, Spencer Kane.

After the show is over, Roberts keep his energy up for his second love — music. Roberts has been in many bands and describes his style of pop as “easy to go down, but still edgy.”

His passion for sports and music were inherited from his dad, a former minor-league baseball player, musician and motorcycle racer. Another thing he inherited from his father was his need to wear hats; Roberts is rarely seen without one on.
