COLUMBIA — Officials have released the identity of a woman killed in a fire in Hartsburg on Monday morning.

Kathy Pruitt, 60, died in the fire at the home she owned with her husband, Robert Pruitt, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Pruitt lived in the house with her husband and granddaughter, neither of whom were home at the time of the fire, according to a previous Missourian article.

The family's three dogs also died in the fire. A passing driver reported the fire at 10:29 a.m.

The state Fire Marshall's Office is continuing its investigation into the cause of the fire, which is still classified as undetermined.
