Three injured in accident on I-70

COLUMBIA — A driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after their vehicle crashed into the embankment on Interstate 70 near North Sorrels Overpass Drive Tuesday evening.

Officer John Dye of the Columbia Police Department said the car, a Chevy Cavalier, overturned and airbags deployed after the crash at mile marker 122.9.

Traffic on westbound I-70 was backed up to before Stadium Boulevard as one lane was closed while the wreckage of the car was towed away.
