Hickman lost its first game of district play Friday, losing to Fort Zumwalt West 42-12 in O'Fallon.

Fort Zumwalt West running back Ray Harris ran for three touchdowns and the Jaguars never trailed. Roderick Williams, the Hickman defensive line coach, said the defense didn't execute the way he hoped.

"We had our eyes in the backfield and not on our keys," Coach Williams said. "We didn't execute at all how we wanted to tonight."

Hickman quarterback Logan Fitch ran for a late touchdown and threw for another, which went 12 yards to Jeff Treadway in the second quarter.

Hickman must win next week at Troy Buchanan and the week after against Jefferson City to advance to the playoffs.
