COLUMBIA — A Columbia woman was arrested on multiple charges after she crashed her car late Friday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online accident report, Teresa Laroe, 48, was driving north on Route PP at Thompson Road when her 2008 Dodge Avenger crossed the center line. She struck a culvert and went airborne after driving off the left side of the road. She was wearing a seat belt.

The responding trooper found several hundred pills of prescription pain killers and anti-depressants — Methadone, Trazadone, Oxycodone and Codeine — in her possession, according to the arrest report.

Laroe was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner resulting in an accident.

She was transported to University Hospital and treated for moderate injuries. She did not have car insurance.
