Hickman wins first game in district volleyball tournament

The Hickman girls volleyball team gained its third win of the season Monday in the Class 4, District 9 tournament at Troy Buchanan High School. The Kewpies defeated Wentzville Holt in the first round of the tournament 25-18, 27-25.

Kimberly Lake led the team offensively with eight kills and Sarah Miller added seven. Chloe Kome led the team in assists and digs with 11 of each.

Coach Greg Gunn said the girls played well and he is looking forward to the semifinal match at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Hannibal.
