Wayne and Susan Kreklow have combined for 748 wins during their two decades as volleyball coaches. They can reach 750 wins Saturday when Missouri plays at home against Oklahoma.

COLUMBIA — Wayne and Susan Kreklow aren't just husband and wife, they are the face of the Missouri volleyball program. Twenty years ago the duo began coaching together, something they love.

Now they sit just two wins shy of 750 for their career. The earliest they could reach this milestone would be in a home match against Oklahoma on Saturday.

Several times in their coaching career, they have needed to balance responsibilities on the court with those at home. As their three children — Rick, Ryan and Ali — have grown up, their responsibilities as parents have shifted.

"When they get older I think it gets even harder because now they're old enough to know they want mom and dad watching them do stuff," Wayne Kreklow said.

In an effort to achieve this, they decided to switch positions on the team. Beginning with the 2005 season, Wayne Kreklow took over as the head coach and Susan Kreklow became the director of volleyball.

Even with this change in roles, Susan Kreklow said she has trouble leaving volleyball at the office.

"We do try to leave volleyball at times," Susan Kreklow said. "But, you know it sneaks back in at all times of the day and all times of the night."
