WEST BOULEVARD: Youth group to attend convention at Lake of the Ozarks

COLUMBIA — Youth Pastor Aaron VanderMolen and his wife will accompany two boys and one girl from New Life Community Church to a youth convention at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach on Friday and Saturday.

The students will spend time with 500 to 600 other students from northern Missouri in worship, in sessions about contemporary issues and in discussions about helping the less fortunate.

They can also participate in a dodgeball tournament Friday night and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Saturday night.

VanderMolen, who has been with New Life Community Church since June, said he is excited because the church has never sent youth members to the conference before.

"We hope students will experience God's presence and experience worshipping with others and walk away being encouraged and more passionate about their faith," he said.
