MU sophomore Marrissa Purnell goes shopping on Thursday on Ninth Street in downtown Columbia. About the drop in the temperatures, she said "Oh my goodness! It is insane. Today, it is 31 degrees and I am freezing. I am from Chicago. I guess I should be used to it."

Cold, wet weather brought a chill to Columbia on Thursday, and the temperature is expected to be in the low 30s during the night, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The rain drops fall on the ground from a gutter of Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts on Thursday.
