COLUMBIA —On Nov. 12, local artists will come together for Community United Methodist Church's craft fair, to be held at the church from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, sponsored by United Methodist Women, will support ministries for women and children. The church will also have its food court and World Market open.

The market is a store inside the church that sells Third World crafts and fair trade coffee year-round.

"We rent booth spaces to crafters and host a bake sale table and food court to raise funds for our unit's mission projects," event chair Kathy Maynard said. "Some other mission groups rent booths to also raise money."

Last year more than $3,000 was raised to support women's ministries.

The event is free and open to the public.
